A SLOW BUT SURE DESCENT INTO MADNESS

Fall 2024

A graphic exploration of absurdism in the 21st century.

“If there is one thing I know, it is that everything happens so that other things can happen.“

Each page is hand drawn with pencil and then either inked or darkened digitally for print. Please enjoy this ongoing work from my pseudo-Ego, Rob McNulty.

This collection is best enjoyed sequentially.

The original text of the comic stand read: “LIFE IS MEANINGLESS. Maybe a Comic Book is just what you need today. Grab one and find out!”

But upon further consideration, I decided that my effort to re-awaken the souls of my peers might have better results if it didn’t cause them existential dread during finals week.

So “LIFE IS ABSURD” was adopted and I think it was a better fit anyway.

Later, a kiosk was hand-crafted to replace the chair. It was made out of cardboard and painted to match the theme of the comic.

Thank you Nathan McCracken and Emma Foster for painting the kiosk. And thank you Randall Hoyt for dropping me into a very very very deep and winding metaphysical and spiritual rabbit hole.
